Splash of Unity: Holi Heats up La Trobe's Campus!
La Trobe is home for thousands of International students, and is always willing to do celebrate festivals from around the globe for their students. One of them is Holi, each year La Trobe transforms in to a kaleidoscope of colours and cultures and students from all over the world especially India wish to celebrate their festival of colours. Holi has become a cherished international festival symbolizing unity, joy, and the triumph of good over evil. At La Trobe, Holi is more than just a festival; it's a melting pot of traditions, friendships, and unforgettable experiences.
Holi is known as the festival of spring, is celebrated with immense enthusiasm and happiness across India and various parts of the world. The reason behind celebrating this festival is triumph of good over evil. One of the most iconic aspects of Holi is the throwing of coloured powders and water, creating a spectacle of vibrant hues that blankets streets, parks, and communities.

On this day the campus buzzes with excitement as students from India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and beyond come together all charged up with colour, water, music and some traditional Indian snacks and sweets add to the festive spirit, allowing everyone to indulge in the culinary delights of Holi. As the festivities kick off, laughter and shouts of "Happy Holi!" fill the air as students drench each other in vibrant colours. It's a scene straight out of a Bollywood movie, with students of all nationalities coming together to dance, sing, and celebrate in harmony. There are students who give some grooving Bollywood performances with special people for playing Dhol (Indian traditional instrument) and a Dj playing some Bollywood holi songs.
